Thursday, August 4 – Monday, August 22 | “Other Visions” | SVA Gramercy Gallery

A juried exhibition of multidisciplinary works by SVA students, “Other Visions” reveals hidden structures and unique ways of seeing through language, identity and light. Six artists use their respective mediums—photography, painting, installation and illustration—as distinct methods for processing invisible experiences. Their explorations translate the unseen into tangible, visible forms.

Tuesday, August 9 – Monday, September 19 | “Dwelling in Motion” | SVA Flatiron Gallery

A juried exhibition of multidisciplinary work by SVA students, “Dwelling in Motion” analyzes the constantly growing relationship between habitat and inhabitant. In the same way that someone occupies a room or lives in a community, internal entities also reside in our lives, including our personalities and identities. These facets of oneself change and mature over time, creating unique structures that give form to knowledge and emotions. The 10 artists in this exhibition use various media, including textiles, painting, photography and sculpture. Connecting the bodies, societies and spaces we live within, these works portray the memories, disorders and ideals that inspire and shape our experiences.

Friday, September 2 – Saturday, October 29 | “The Masters Series: Lynsey Addario” | SVA Chelsea Gallery

SVA will honor Lynsey Addario—acclaimed war photographer, MacArthur Foundation Fellow and Pulitzer Prize recipient—this fall with the 32nd annual Masters Series Award and Exhibition. Initially planned for the fall of 2020, “The Masters Series: Lynsey Addario” will be a comprehensive retrospective of her fearless, two-decade journey documenting global humanitarian issues. SVA will also host an artist talk with Addario on Friday, September 9, at the SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street.
