The new series is the latest initiative from SVA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Welcome to “Portraits of Identity,” a new series lifting up voices from the diverse, global and multicultural community at the School of Visual Arts, and spotlighting individual SVA students, staff and faculty who have been invited to share aspects of their lived experience at the College and in New York City.
The first episode focuses on Yiran Sun, a fourth-year BFA Design student. Sun has held various leadership positions at SVA and in the community, including as an Admissions student ambassador, student associate director assistant for orientation, a council member of the New York Chinese Young Leaders Association and the president of the Chinese Students Organization. Sun is also a member of the Multicultural Student Union at SVA.
