School of Visual Arts plans to return to an in-person instruction model for the fall 2021 semester, with residence halls open to capacity and all Art History and Humanities and Science courses continuing to run online. In addition, SVA is planning to offer a limited number of fully online classes for first- and second-year students. For the latest updates on the College’s plans for fall 2021, see the recorded Town Hall sessions held on July 12 and July 13; the videos are also posted below, just above the "Archived Notifications."


This spring, President David Rhodes announced the SVA COVID-19 vaccination policy for students, faculty and staff. That letter, from April 26, is in the “Archived Notifications” section at the bottom of the page. See the “Frequently Asked Questions” section for more information, including instructions on how to submit proof of vaccination or request an exemption form.


SVA’s plans for a safe reopening have been created by academic and administrative leadership in accordance with New York State guidelines, as well as the guidance of federal and local health authorities.
