BFA Visual & Critical Studies and the Honors Program present poet and professor Kay Gabriel to speak about and read from her new book, A Queen in Bucks County. Gabriel’s book is an epistolary sequence about sex, exchange and social space set along the Northeast Corridor that, as one reviewer puts it, “finds a connection between trans femininity and modernism.” With Andrea Abi-Karam, Gabriel co-edited We Want It All: An Anthology of Radical Trans Poetics and is the author of Kissing Other People or the House of Fame.

MPS Digital Photography presents a talk with self-taught, British-born photographer Rob Hann as part of its i3: Images, Ideas, Inspiration lecture series. After a career as a portrait photographer shooting over 900 commissions for numerous magazines and record companies, he turned his attention to traveling the roads of rural America and shooting what he found there. He now makes his living from selling prints of the work he shoots on the road through galleries in the US and Europe and selling affordable prints from his table on the street in SoHo on weekends. Rob has seven photographs in the permanent collection of The National Portrait Gallery in London. His first book, Diesel Fried Chicken, was published by The Artist Edition in 2018.
