Officially, the Visual Arts Student Association, or VASA, is the governing body designed to represent the interests and needs of students at SVA. The officers have monthly meetings with the president of the College, David Rhodes, to discuss student concerns and new initiatives.

VASA President Amanda DiMartino (BFA Film) explains: “VASA is here to serve as a voice of the student body. We help to engage, advocate for, and represent the students of SVA. As president of VASA, I manage the office staff employees, coordinate and promote annual programs and events for 1000+ guests, oversee the budget, and lead executive board meetings and trainings.”
