About Banu:

Banu Çiçek Tülü is a Berlin-based artist, producer, DJ and researcher with a background in urban design originally from south-east Turkey. Her ideas and research are based primarily in sound and sonic methodologies. Her practice-based artistic approach involves participation, social design, ecology, intersectional feminist and queer theory and draws on the artistic, cultural and political imagination as a tool for social change. The process of artistic production is key to her work, which is presented predominantly as multi-channel video and sound installations, sculptural elements and diverse other objects.

About Tomoko:

Tomoko Hojo is an artist working within the fluidities between Sound, Music and Performance. Recently she develops projects around Yoko Ono in Tokyo and London, based upon the theme that makes (women’s) silenced voices audible in the history. As well as solo activities, she has an ongoing collaborative project with Swiss sound artist Rahel Kraft, their projects seek for hidden, faint and intimate sounds, which are often inaudible in the relationship between people and place. She also co-ordinates and performs as part of Tokyo based Ensemble for Experimental Music and Theater, which explores questions around theatre and notation, propounded by John Cage. She has written about the pre-history of Sound Art in Japan from 1950s to 1970s, focusing on exhibited sound works created by artists having their origins in music, published in the book, After Musicking, edited by Yoshitaka Mōri, Tokyo University of the Arts Press, in 2017.

About Sergey:

Sergey Kasich is a sound and media artist, curator, and composer originally hailing from Sevastopol, Crimea. With academic background in psychology, he started his artistic career as a sound designer for theatres, film studios, and pop music acts. Kasich has been creating and curating acclaimed experimental sound projects worldwide since 2008. He is the founder and main curator of the SA)) community for experimental sound artists from the post-Soviet regions as well as SA))_gallery and SA))_studio in Moscow.

About Cal:

Cal is a multi/non-disciplinary artist from Sea Cliff NY. Musical and sonic exploration has always been at the center of both their art practice and social life and they began performing at Brooklyn diy venues around 2012 at places like Death by Audio and 285 Kent in the band Turnip King. Since, Cal has performed solo song and dance all around the country and in parts of Europe with a synthesis of flute, tape loops, movement, homemade instruments, and sculpture. Cal currently lives and works in Brooklyn making custom clothing/soft sculpture, teaching art/technology classes to kids, and performing and organizing regularly. They are collaborating with Kyle Marshall Choreography as sound artist/designer and a resident artist/manager at the Living Gallery.
