Homs and War

Like many other Syrian cities, the war has left Homs in rubbles. The old city area where the site location is located is especially heavily destroyed and damaged sins the time it became a war zone.

Due to conflict, religious sects and groups grew distant and estranged contributing negatively to the well being of Syria’s peace in modern times. Which became the cause of creating the philosophy center to resolve this problem and promote peace.

(Bayt Al Kul) Philosophy Center

A city destroyed by war and conflict, Homs once the third biggest Syrian city, now lies in its

destruction lacking of its liveliness and people.

Bayt al-Kul, Philosophy and Peace Center plays a major role in gluing back society through

philosophy and conceptual thinking.

The center will give the people of this city a chance to listen and share one another’s views

through philosophical debate. By discovering the world of ideas, Philosophy could rebuild back

the unity and cultural value of Homs, as much as this city contributed to global Philosophy in

history with its Philosophers.
